Allagash FV 13, an American Wild Ale. From untappd -- FV 13 marks our first venture into the world of foudre beers. Foudres are giant oak tanks used for aging (this one holds 2700 gallons.) FV 13 is a blend of wild yeast and bacteria, a base beer with lots of malt character, and about four years of patience. The finished beer is copper in color, with an aroma of cherries and caramel. Tastes a little like a cider little like a barley wine and is very good. Allagash is a great, on a kind of industrial street in Portand. They have an outdoor bar with tables with umbrellas. They also have cornhole. Cute bartenders and got a free flight even though I didn't take the tour. Foundation is across the street, and would think it's the shortest distance between two very good breweries. Damn, miss Portland. Need another vacation.

 

Roki, the Armenian version of Ouzo, was our cure-all. When I was a kid we got a thimble full of Roki when we were sick.
