I do not but at least they are providing jobs and business here in this area. Which is more than I can say for many of the multinational corporations which are intent on shipping as many jobs as possible overseas. Plus, when you go to local stores and restaurants, you usually get to know the owners/managers so if you hear something you don't like, you can always bail.

You know who provides tons of jobs to a given area, often in areas where unemployment is a major problem otherwise?

    Wal-Mart.

Also, many, if not most, of Wal-Mart's customers can't afford to boycott at will. So without Wal-Mart, those people are even worse off.

But that shouldn't stop anyone from sticking to their, uh, principles.

Does Chick-fil-A provide jobs in your local area?

I'm not sure if Chick-fil-A is in Magic's area.

But, their Chicago store is massive. It's right off of Michigan Ave., and it employs 90 people.

It's also locally owned by a franchisee, whose husband is a Chicago cop.

I'm not boycotting Chick-fil-A. I just don't care enough about the politics of the owners in an ivory tower, etc., etc.

I will not, however, go there today. I'm not supporting anything that the radical right is so far up in arms about.

Those two statements don't go together.

    True, I suppose.

I'm just saying I'm not openly attending the "Support Chick-fil-A day" that Huckabee is promoting.

Those of us who boycott Wal-Mart must be missing out on something special ...http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/sex-inside-kansas-walmart-587324

Quite a dilemma if that was a gay couple.

The fondling? No problem. But when you go and shoplift sexual lubricant? How gauche.

(BTW, I don't think we have a sexual lubricant aisle at our Walmart.)
