The PTI podcast is great. I don't usually have the time to watch it during the day, but being able to listen to it on 2X speed in the morning is a nice way to stay caught up. It also only takes about 10-11 minutes...

Other podcasts I still listen to:

    Carolla
    WTF
    Nerdist
    You Made it Wierd
    Joe Rogan's Podcast
    Real Time with Bill Maher
Here's the Thing with Alec Baldwin
Girl on Guy with Aisha Tyler
    Fitzdog Radio
    The Bryan Callen Show
    Mohr Stories
    Bertcast
Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend
    Adam and Dr. Drew Show
    Dr. Drew Podcast

I've whittled it down to just WTF lately. I got the premium app so I have all the old episodes. He's done some really great interviews.

  4. I don't think I've seen Walking the Room mentioned. The chemistry between those guys is great. Just hearing them crack each other up every episode makes me laugh.

He is a great interviewer. He's had too many musical guests lately and it's not the same dynamic (usually) as it is with comedians, actors and writers. There are a few exceptions. I have the Aimee Mann and Dave Grohl ones still in my library, since they are both generally pretty good interviews.

Not sure if it counts since it's just the replay of his radio show, but I love me some Steve Czaban. One of the few national sports radio shows that doesn't get bogged down in stupid debates and screaming matches, and is thus listenable.

I've saved the episodes with Henry Rollins, Anthony Bourdain, Penn Jillette and John Oliver. WTF is a good show, like a darker, angstier older brother to the Nerdist podcast.

The John Oliver interview was so interesting... Bourdain is always a great guest on podcasts and so is Jillette.

David Lee Roth was on Jay Mohr's podcast this week and it was probably the most insightful interview I'd ever heard with Roth, and that includes him being on Stern and a couple of the other podcasts.

i've just started with a podcast called The Flop House, where they analyze bad movies and what made them so horrible. when they're rolling, it's pretty darn good.

also, for interview shows, i like bullseye with jesse thorn. its a lot like npr's fresh air, but with a host who has younger cultural reference points.

and though there are only a few episodes, i highly recommend Selected Shorts for people who like fiction. it's recorded performances of actors reading short stories. i've heard three episodes—featuring a raymond carver story, a ray bradbury story (read by stephen colbert) and a rick bass story that were all outstanding.

Those were both very good. I liked the Dave Alvin one a lot, but I'm a Blasters fan.

It's well worth shelling out a few bucks to get access to the old ones. The Louis CK interview was terrific.

I was listening from the beginning. I'm a big Carolla fan and I remember he and Maron each doing each other's shows very early on and that's how I started listening to WTF. I went through a stretch for about two years where I didn't miss a single one of Maron's shows. Lately, I listen if he has a guest who I really want to hear I'll listen right away, but I'm way behind right now.

One of my few complaints about WTF is that when he does live shows, the interviews seem to suffer or he puts too many people on and will jump around too much...
