You're absolutely right there. But of course, the real important thing is that it's just one in there.

I was just happy to see only one in the sonogram. My wife's mom is a twin and we were scared since she it skips a generation. But only one in the chamber!

The wife & I wanted to be surprised so we made sure to tell the nurse doing the sonograms we didn't want to know. She did a great job of hitting the angles right so we didn't see the equipment. So when Little E came out and the wife asked me what we had, I had to do a quick double-take to make sure I did indeed see the equipment there. We were 100% set on a boy's name throughout the pregnancy. The day before they brought her in to induce we were still settling on a girl's name. Due to that indecision on a girl's name, we were convinced it was going to be a girl, but when Little E came out and the doctor held him up, he was clearly a boy.

With all that hormone exposure, at least part is usually brag-worthy. 8)

Nothing to brag about. Just like others have posted that in looking at a sonogram they could tell it was a boy, I'm just saying looking at the real thing it's obvious he was a boy.
He was born several pounds lighter than the ultrasound/sonogram thought he would be.

Same thing happened with our son. We started a pool to guess weight and length and everyone went 8 lbs because I was a huge baby and the ultrasound with a month left had him registered over 6 lbs.
He came out 5 lbs 5 ozs

OK, I'm starting to freak out a bit ...and yes, I've been drinking, so that might be a part of it.

I am freaked out about naming the kid. I have yet to go through all 51 pages of this...so I am not sure it's been brought up...but I can't even put into words how this scares me.

My wife nixed the only name I ever wanted (and made up when I was like 18 years old) for my boy...I'm pretty much "meh" about a girls name...she can come up with that. The middle name, if it's a boy, will be my dad's name...but the first name is driving me insane recently.

So this might not be a big deal in 6 weeks once we find out if it's a boy or girl..but, how did you figure out a name?

I want it to be special, but not obnoxious. Strong and worthwhile, but not out of the park weird. A tip o'the cap to honor my past, but not be a name that can be pegged to one person.

I would like a Biblical name...but not a normal name (like mine). At the same time, I don't want my kid sound like a freak.

Should I honor a sports hero of mine? A musical hero? ARGH!

If you are worrying about this... Well let's just say in a few months it is going to be very low on the totem pole.

What are the family names you guys can pool from? That is a good place to start.

I also the like ring of two names, like Gracie May or John Clark (call him JC).

I had my son's name picked out for 12-13 years. It wasn't until we found out we were having a boy that my husband said he didn't like it. Arrrg!! I have to be at the hospital in six hours for my c-section. We only decided on his first name a couple of weeks ago and his middle name two hours ago. I had been at that feeling like I was freaking out point, too. I mean this is what he's going to have for the rest of his life. (For the record I take weeks to name a new pet.) Finally I just went with what felt right. With his first name I had to say it every time I talked about him for it to feel like it was set. With his middle name (after my husband) it just felt perfect.

You haven't popped yet? The kid's going to come out with all his high school eligibility used up...

Tell me about it! I'm at least giving birth to a toddler. It feels that way some days. He is huge.
