My husband and I had agreed on a boy's name long before we were expecting. After I got pregnant, we tried to come up with a girl's name but couldn't agree on anything. One night we were out with our nieces and one of them said, "How about Sarah?" And we looked at each other and both said, "I like that." Our niece loves telling everyone she named her cousin.

I had a friend who recently adopted a little boy. She and her husband always liked the name Dylan, but when they saw their son for the first time, they knew: not a Dylan. They came home with Michael Alex.

My advice would be, just keep thinking of names, see what you like, bounce them off your wife.

    KG, best wishes today!!

We went Sarah, too. Great, classic name that's not too popular anymore. Although of course there's another Sarah in our daughter's daycare almost exactly the same age, so they've been together in every room from the start. I think the rest of the kids are named Eva, Ava, Anna, Emily, Emma, Ella or some variation of those...

It will not be popular here, but we went with Mary Elizabeth. We use Mary Beth for short, or MB.

I also have called her Tugboat ever since she was an infant thanks to a bathtime toy she had.

    Why wouldn't that be popular?

Peter King? That was before my time here, though.

Not sure how much longer you are going to get away with that nickname once school starts! That being said I don't think my little princess is going to let me keep calling her a little "bun bun" much longer either.

We went with older names that were not real trendy that we thought would work as children's names and adult names.

I'm not a real religous guy but am a fan of Old Testamnent and Hebrew names even though we are not Jewish. We ended up with Madeline and Levi for our girl and boy.

More for these guys, but I still have a few more years of getting to call her Tugboat.
