That is great news! Are you still up for the ideas? I hope nobody have said this before me, but you shouldn't shake her to stop her from crying. You should rock her slowly back and forth accompanied by a gentle shushing sound which would immediately make her stop crying. The shushing sound calms her down because that is the sound of your wife's baby stomach(I forgot what you call where the baby is) as she is rearing for the baby inside her. Shaking would cause a shaken baby syndrome which would accompany her for all her life through: low health, dizziness when traveling, and low stamina.

The shushing thing is a mixed bag. My oldest loved it, and it worked, for nearly a year. My second kid hated it. It caused her to lose her shit, backfired big time on us.

So now the Mrs. has weekly ultrasounds. I find this to be bothersome since now any little movement he makes in the womb is freaking her out. He has his cord around his neck once and it's very loose.
Twice this morning alone, she had crying fits because she is worried when he is not moving enough. I tried to console her by telling her he isn't going to move 24 hours a day and he will sleep and not move, and she understands, but I can't get her to stop thinking about it.
This is going to be a long 7-10 weeks til he is due.

Awww.. poor thing! Definitely fill her OB in on the anxiety your wife is experiencing. He/she can assure your wife and possibly even refer her to a therapist just to get her thru the next few weeks. I definitely had anxiety with my first pg, and therapy got me thru. The weekly scans should also help. Another thing that helped me was distraction. I worked a lot and filled up my freetime with romantic comedies and US Magazine. Whatever that thing is that distracts her, do it.
