    Heh ... it's been 6 1/2 years since I returned from self-imposed exile and I haven't thrown a tantrum and nuked since.

First post as jr/shotglass was on spnited's RIP thread. Still miss the guy.

It was as Wahoo Sam back on the old old Sportspages.com. When was that, 95-96?

I think I was Starman by the time the migration to SJ.com happened.

Been here since 2003 when I was a stringer on my college beat and a competing correspondent known here as Mighty_Wingman introduced me. Even the old-timers on the beat were lurkers if not posters.

I've never been a prolific poster -- though my modern like-to-post ratio is stellar! -- but I recall having some beef with hockeybeat.

My oldest post on the current iteration is from 2005 when I asked for suggestions on Myrtle Beach, my Spring Break destination.

Life and career got in the way and I was gone for 5 years before posting on some Jacksonville-related threads in late 2011.

Made my triumphant return upon relocating to the Midwest in the summer of 2012 with a post on the freelance/stringer board about "Journatic."

What the hell, I looked it up ... and it was a question about a job opening in January 2009. "You're hired!"

I lurked for a while, then posted this on deskslave's Feb. 18, 2009 thread, "Fewer days or fewer pages?"

It was cool to see a couple of my old threads, especially the SJ.com Memorial Day top songs countdown. It was one of my few all-nighters, back when posters occasionally did that.

There were a few posts about college football, too.

First post was in 2014 on June 28 -- my birthday. It was on a thread about the death of David Burgin, a maniacal but brilliant editor I worked for long ago. The post began, "Longtime lurker, first-time poster" as I had been perusing the site for a few years before signing up.

I don't know how to find it now, but I believe it was jumping in on the MLB thread about how Hank Aaron was on greenies.

My first post was on the home bowl thread describing how I backed up my friend's crapper when I was 8. The only thing I left off was needing a stick to break up the turd so we could flush the toilet.

Spinited was the man. He came to the SJ outing in Toronto back in the day and HC and I drove down to NYC for a great dinner/pub crawl where he was part of the gang. It's impossible to eat lobster bisque without thinking of Spinited. RIP

Indeed he was, probably spent an hour at our Loose Moose pregame the day we went to the Jays-Seattle game listening to him tell stories of his days covering baseball in New York.

And I know the old man doesn't give a fuck about my fantasy team.

I joined in '03. This is my third handle. I don't remember what the first post under Songbird was. Maybe something to do with Colt Brennan or Devean George?
