What's a company you'd NEVER work for?

Father Scripps has been very, very good to me...
And I think that's all I can say about that. :)

I'll call bullshit on this one... Two words: USA Today...

I don't understand all of the Gannett hatred. Granted, it's the only company I've ever worked for but they have always treated me well.

I've never heard any of the horror stories I've heard about other paper chains.

Michigan State athletic department, the Democratic Party or anyone or anything tied to George Soros. I'd rather be a page.

I'd sooner work for Gannett (and, in fact, have) than for a locally owned newspaper run by an individual or a family with an agenda and a mean streak and nobody to whom to answer but themselves.

  7. CBS Sportsline. What a lesson in management that one was.

Why would you call bullshit on that? I've worked for Gannett and didn't hate it and would work for Gannett again given the right situation, but I have no desire to read USA Today, much less work for it.

  9. On the other hand, I think USA Today kicks ass. At least the sports section. A-section sometimes also.

I might be in the minority here, but Al Neuharth knew what he was doing, and he pulled it off.

Read the book "McPaper" if you get a chance. Love it or hate it, USA Today changed the industry, and much if it in good ways.

I liked that book a lot. The newspaper, not so much.

CNHI is making Gannett look like Newhouse.

    Follow the thought, boys.
Could be on next spring's SATs.
