It might take a little longer than five hours on low. When my mom would make it, she would put it in before she left to teach at 6 a.m. and it would be ready about 5 p.m. I'd put it on medium low.

OK, thanks . . . I can grill any kind of meat you want, but I'm a novice at the crock pot deal.

I just made some egg salad that's pretty good. It will hold me over until Doc gets home after midnight to eat some more chili.

    Pastor tacos
Also, sear the outside of that roast before putting it in the crock pot.

    Solid idea there, Buck.

One large pastrami with swiss heading your way.

    Thanks, Zeke.
I'll take that with spicey mustard and a kosher on the side.

So, is this the opposite of the LiveSTRONG thread?

I don't see many salads in the menu here.

    Just sayin'

All tests are in; clean bill of health.

So that's the way we like it. ;)

I was off today and hung around home and made beef soup. I took some beef bones, chuck stew meat and an onion and roasted them for 90 minutes. Then I dumped them into a pot with carrots, celery, bay leaf, salt, pepper and water and simmered for four hours. Then I threw out the solids and poured the liquid into a fat separator and threw out the fat. Then I dumped the liquid back into the pot and threw in some chopped onion, carrots and celery and some roasted stew meat and simmered for two more hours. I've made this before, but today's turned out best.

I was in Utah and I had these kick ass french fries cooked in some sort of new grease. They called them man fries.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I know what you're thinking. They weren't phallic! Once I got past that, they were pretty good. Kind of tasted "chemically" and had some secret white foam ingredient, but I recommend them.

Tomorrow I'll be in Michigan, I heard they're serving some new weird-ass confection: dead dog eclairs. Sounds gross, but I'll try anything once.

Sounds like a nifty fantasy sports team.
