    I want pizza, but we have leftover spaghetti so we'll eat spaghetti.

    Leftover spaghetti is really good cooked in a skillet with breadcrumbs and a few other ingredients added. Sort of like a little spaghetti pie.

    Tonight I am scrounging because I am alone. But I meant to drop by this thread on Sunday because my funny little hunny made me chicken fried steak for my birthday. Homemade mashed potatoes, cream gravy made from the drippin's in the pan, and biscuits made from scratch. There is nothing in that meal that is good for me. I haven't gotten it for the last couple of years becuase of other things going on. But it was magical. My wife does not cook it as well as my mother, a fact she freely admits, and my mother does not cook it as well as her mother. But since the latter two are no longer with us, my wife's version will do just fine.

    One thing I noticed though, and I am not that observant so it has taken me awhile. My grandmother always complained about her gravy, and so did my mother. I never found anything wrong with either. I noticed the other night that my wife was complaining about her gravy. And there was nothing wrong with it.

    Chicks ::)

    You bastard!
    I always want DiStefano's, and you know it!
    I'll take a roast beef hoagie w/ provolone, hot peppers and oil and vinegar. Hold the tomatoes.

    No tomatoes? You sure you're from Jersey?

    I know. It's a strange quirk, but I'm definitely from Jersey.

    At least I'm not ordering a hoagie with mayo on it.
    (Worse yet, you could order one here in California and they would want to put mustard, mayo and pickles on it.)
