Homemade red beans and rice. They were delectable.

Bojangles and Chic-Fil-A are 1-2 in the fast food sweat tea race, for sure.

And yes, sweet tea is the nectar of the gods. People who have never tried it are unfortunate, and people who don't like it are just plain weird.

And in an annual sign of football season, Hammer Pants is writing two stories per day and eating lots and lots of cereal and granola bars. It's fast, and it's better for you than fast food.

  6. Put me in the weird category then.

Sorry to disappoint, but Zaxby's has them both beat. Believe it or not, McDonald's is a close second.
Sweet Tea is a southern delight. In the midwest, they will give you tea but you have to ask for sugar.
And in every case, you must request lemons.

McDonald's is NOT a close second in sweet tea. That stuff is the bane of all that is evil. And you don't have to request lemons with your tea in the midwest. Nine times out of ten, they give it to you when you don't even want it.

If you're ever in Sutton, New Hampshire, there's a gas station/Korean food joint with great food that is wonderfully spiced. It's just off Exit 8 of I-89.

For dinner tonight, a big bowl of Smart Start cereal and a coupla grapefruits.

I cannot tell you the fiery passion with which I hate Yankee-style sweet tea. If you're going to sweeten it, do so while it's hot, not when it's cold. Gritty tea is just gross.
