We just sat down for lunch. Along with the bird and the stuffing, I made my super-duper au gratin potatoes. Self-peeled potatoes (8 of 'em) ... chopped onions ... layers of cheddar, mozzarella and at top, cheddar cheese. With heavy cream dripped down through it, because Paula Deen's got nothin' on me on a holiday.

    That will be supper, too.

    Wait a minute, Shot.

You have your Thanksgiving dinner in the afternoon?

Do most people do that or is it just your family?

Just started picking at the rotisserie chickens I brought in for our skeleton crew. I know I shouldn't eat the skin, but it's so damn good.

More so when it's really crisp.

I'm going to have half a box of dressing tonight. The whole damned box is like 1,200 calories or something.

Dunno what (if) work is feeding us for "supper" tonight, but I know what's for breakfast: my scrambled eggs breakfast burrito, with green chile salsa.

Probably a work-related thing. Have the turkey with the family, then take leftovers into work later on.

I imagine a lot of people in this industry have done that a time or two.

We eat midafternoon and then wait a few hours before dessert.

Today, however, I'll be eating turkey dinner in the newsroom.
