I just chunked a chicken in the oven. Garlic and lemons in the cavity. Olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper on outside. About an hour and 15 minutes to go. I'll have some garlic mashed potatoes and some kick-ass green beans to go with it.

Wow, pallister. You may be the first person I've ever "met" who didn't like sweet potatoes. Of course, I live well below the Mason-Dixon Line.

I live below the Mason-Dixon line and I can't stand sweet potatoes.

    TBF,

So do I. Grew up in the South, too. But the idea of a "sweet" potato has always turned me off.

There is nothing sweet about sweet potatoes.

Is this true? Can anyone vouch for this?

In lieu of going back to find out what this is in reference to, I must ask for context.

I had some chicken and some asparagus for lunch. I ain't feeling too well or too happy right now so I'll probably skip dinner.

I've tried them a few different ways, and there's still nothing sweet about sweet potatoes, nor will there ever be for me.

How, then, would you describe them?

    Not so sweet.

(I'm not saying they're like sugar sweet. I'm saying they don't taste sweet (as in that's not such a sweet move, dude.)
