I think I read that etouffee starts with the same roux base. I wanted to snag some file powder, but I'll have to search around for it. Publix didn't have it and didn't know what it was.

It was tasty, but it was almost overpowering. It was as good as what I picked up at some dive on Bourbon Street five years ago. So there's that.

I'm debating the whole crawfish thing. Is the taste similar to shrimp?

They don't taste, to me, like any other seafood. Really fishy and .... well, I really can't come up with a good description. Just pick up a pack of frozen tail meat and get with it.

crawfish are not similar to shrimp in taste or consistency at all. At least in my book. I've tried crawfish before and I never wanted to throw up faster in my life.

The King made my dinner tonight. Double Whopper with cheese, no tomaters or pickles. Yummo!

    Taco cheese.

I mean nothing. Time sort of ran up on me, and I was left to chomp on jolly ranchers and kisses.

You chomped on jolly ranchers? Did that make them extra jolly?

Actually, I sucked 'em good. Nothing like the sweet sweet juice of a jolly rancher.

Grilled chops, roasted brussel sprouts and roasted red peppers.

    Sweet tea.

  12. The other day I made pork chops for my future in-laws. Boneless, marinated in Lowry's seasoning, Italian dressing and Shiner Bock for an hour.

    In a word: awesome.
