Man, you just can't beat small-town, mom-and-pop food.

We have these little snack bars at the larger airfields. They serve biscuits and eggs in the mornings, hamburgers and lunch specials.

Before we flew today, I ran in and grabbed a BLT. Best sandwich I've ever eaten.

Tonight, ribeyes on the grill, since the weather's nice. Mashed taters, salad and a bottle of Chianti. Yes, the whole bottle for me since the Mrs. is preggers.

(it took me five minutes to type this because my fingers are getting thick.)

the little store/deli at the end of the road have the best burgers/sandwiches i've eaten in what has to be two decades.

that being said, i'm sure the cheeseburgers are absolutely loaded with sat. fat. but one a month shouldn't kill me too quickly.

and tonight? some low-fat subway crap.

Fish and the best cole slaw I've ever had from the Chicken Shack. You know, the kind that's minced up really small and has a tiny bit of sweetness to it?

  5. I'm ready for my "weekend" ... cooking pork chops on Sunday and chicken and dumplings on Monday. Love it.

Homemade tuna croquettes, microwaved frozen string beans, microwaved leftover mashed potatoes.

It was the first time I ever made tuna croquettes. Based on how they turned out, it certainly won't be the last.
