I ate at a place called Rice Pot Express. Big-ass deal of fried rice and a big-ass deal of sesame chicken for eight bucks. I barely finished it all. Day-um.

Oh my German grandmother made something like that only using lettuce. She used to call it wilted lettuce and it was awesome. I've never tried to make it but maybe I'll try the carrots. Thanks for the recipe Slappy.

Various soups: Potato, Santa Fe, chili, gumbo.

Little brother is home from Iraq on R&R, so we had a family gathering.

I'm raising a glass to your little bro, TBF, and imaging how good the gumbo was. Me? Belgian dubbel's and a ham sandwich.

Last night, I made roasted potatoes, grilled steaks and broccoli and I actually made bearnaise sauce. It wasn't even that hard. It was good on the steaks and the broccoli! Washed it down with some lovely Domaine Carneros sparkling.

Crab-stuffed filets with a peppercorn molasses cream sauce.

On the side, I'll pan fry some garlic asparagus, and we've baked sweet potatoes.

Bottle of Rodney Strong cab and some bananas foster for dessert.

I may not wake up, tomorrow.
