Never been a fan of pineapple on my pizza. Then again, I can not see why anyone wouldn't want mushrooms on their pizza.

See, one of my faves is a Papa John's mushroom and ham pizza. I'll splurge for sausage every now and then, but man, the ham they use just tastes better than anyone else's for some reason.

No offense, but why do people waste their money on fake pizza at the big chain pizzerias (namely Pizza Hut, Poppa John's, Dominos, Little Cesars, etc.) when 99% of the local independent pizzerias make pizza that's way better?

Depends on where you live. If you live in the suburbs, there may not be any local independent pizzerias that are as convenient.

Doesn't matter where it comes from, but the best pizza is green chile and pineapple. Hot and sweet.

Ding, ding, ding. In podunk, usually crappy alternatives or none at all.

Also, I know the quaint independent pizzeria is supposedly always superior to the awful, awful chains, but I've been plenty of places where the local stuff is mediocre to Sbarro-bad. Papa John's is at least consistent.

More people think this is crazy than don't ... but the best pizza I've ever had was a very greasy, deep-dish pizza with extra mozzarella, baby shrimp and just enough real romano to balance it all out perfectly.

Used to get it in my hometown at the pizzeria where we'd go Friday nights after high school football games. I can taste it. Right now.

And I never have found one to match.

    Fruit on pizza.

    Unacceptable under any circumstances.

Fruit on pizza FTW. Extreme Pizza does a decent version of a Hawaiian that includes mandarin oranges.

    Fruit on pizza = OK

Fruit in beer = Decidedly not OK.
