What's for supper tonight?

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Chef, Oct 4, 2006.

  1. Thank you. My S.O. looked at me like I was a crackhead when I suggested that. She's never had Blue Moon.

Still doing the tomato soup/pudding thing. Dinner and supper. I'm really, really getting tired of it. Maybe I should go for some cream of mushroom/chicken/celery to break the monotony.

First solids I have after my tongue heals are going to be liver and onions. M-m-m-m-m-m.

blue moon is my favorite of the mass produced beers. it actually tastes better if you pour it in a glass. it opens it up that way.

Blue Moon in a pilsner glass is much better.

And Ellis, tell your s.o. to try it before he/she knocks it.

Yes. Blue Moon is quite tasty. Franziskeiner (sp???) is awfully good as well, although the last time I ordered it the waitress put a slice of fruit at the top and I respectfully told her that no beer I order will ever come with a sidecar again. I did tip her well, though.

And as for the pizza comment, I don't really have a choice, although there is a very very good place downtown that does pizza, but it's more expensive than the brand name stuff. For the record, the only places I order out from are Papa John's and Hungry Howies. Can't stand Dominoes or Pizza Hut.

Blue Moon with an orange is indeed very good. It's not what I'm having for supper, though I wouldn't mind.

Couple of nice filets. Mushrooms and shallots in a brandy, cream and molasses sauce. Garlic mashed potatoes and some steamed carrots.

    Fuck, yeah.

I bought the entire tenderloin. $16/pound vs. $23. It was about 8 pounds, and we got 8 filets and the chain for stew meat.

    Mmmmm, mmmm good.

I have chicken tenderloins that I need to cook before they get gross. Normally I throw them in the Foreman grill and then into a big-ass bowl of macaroni. Are there better ways to cook them, though? I have veggie oil but not olive oil, and every time I try to skillet them, they get that gross crust on them. I fail at cooking.

    Chickens have tenderloins? Where?

Breast tenderloins, or breast strips, or whatever they end up getting called by the people who sell them (it varies from store to store).
