Mustard, your wife is a saint. Too much sauce is a no-no in my book. When I chance to get a Subway Meatball sub, I tell them go light on the "marinara." I always get funny looks on that one.

Come on Moddy. I shared MY chili recipe. You can do it. I promise. :D Thanks for the ziti recipe. I'll try that next week.

The beans are soaking as we speak.
15 varieties. 16 when I add the kidney beans.

Alice is making her ground turkey and black bean chili for the Pats' game tomorrow. But it's the cornbread that'll make the meal.

Yeah, I gots to work on some cornbread. That's missing from my otherwise impressive kitchen repetoire.

Change in plan from the original dinner plans, which were two ham sandwiches. Apparently they brought back pizza from a company party I couldn't go to tonight, so the moment my final page proofs come out, I'm getting Domino's Pizza. (Pizza got here minutes ago.)

    Pepperoni and sausage, of course.

Very good sir. May you avoid the heartburn it gives me.

I've only been to Cincinnati twice in my life, the last time in 2001, which happens to be the last time I've had Skyline Chili. This is as close as I'm getting for a while, unless I go after that Grant Co., Ky. job. Or I hit it on my proposed Last Kiss Before Dying tour.

Skyline Chili is my life's blood. If by life's blood you mean something you get to eat about every four years, once.

Doing well more than two hours later, so I think I'm going to be fine.

Little Dewey's? I wasn't impressed the only time I've eaten it.

We had vegetable beef soup tonight. Mmmm good.
