have you ever noticed that if you go into an office (not a newsroom, necessarily) that the more important the person, the less they seem to have on their desk? not sure if that means they don't do any work or they just made it to the top because they know how to keep a clean desk.

This is incredible...because of this thread, I decided to dig to the bottom of the stratosphere to see how far it went...gave up around the 2000 World Series and swept everything onto the floor.

Now the only thing on the desk is me. I might take a nap here.

    Mine's pretty basic.

The phone list for newsroom extensions, a few months worth of proofs, an AP stylebook, a couple of pucks, a foam puck, a small football and a couple of Carolina Hurricanes fan cards. And a Keep Pounding card under the monitor.

Besides the necessities (phone, computer), a stack of newspapers, a dictionary, a phone book, an AP style guide, some various media guides, a picture of my nephews, a Diet Coke I'm drinking, two water bottles, a printout of a story from the Orlando Sentinel that picked Montana to win the MAC tourney this year and my cell phone.

Oh yea, and a bunch of Star Wars toys.

Google "Keep Pounding" and you'll better understand.

As I am at work, I assume "Safe Search is ON" would be a good option.

Probably ... not all reference to those two words are related to ... well ... you know.
