Invictus, Bourne, The Departed, Rounders, Good Will Hunting, Syriana, The Good Shepard...

Shit, he is going to be in True Grit in a year or two.

I gotta say the Damon has more range than nost actors out there.

I will say you are spot on about Clooney.

I wish I could find it, but there was a movie critic who wrote that Clooney, who I love, has been playing the Jack Foley character he played in Out Of Sight, in pretty much every film he has done.

Maybe not among the top films, but the performances of Charlize Theron in Monster and Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich were perhaps the best female performances of the decade. Made you forget it was Charlize Theron and Julia Roberts you were watching.

They used to say the same thing about Cary Grant.
    Didn't hurt him any.

  7. Not Damon.
The Talented Mr. Ripley.. Bourne ... Good Will Hunting ... The Good Shpeherd ... Dogma... all vastly different roles.
Son of a bitch is a good actor.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you gentlemen about Clooney. He inhabits a role with such ease that it seems like he's not doing anything but I he has the greatest gift an actor can have and that is a complete lack of vanity. He moves easily from comedy to drama and I'll put his work in "Three Kings", "Syriana" and "Michael Clayton" up against anyone.

  9. Back on Page 1 I listed The Prestige as the best movie of the decade. Per DD's request ...

After watching it once, you can go back and rewatch it and see things you looked right past the first time. It's a great story with rock-solid acting.
That's what I really, really love about movies, good movies... a great story or plot.
I could not care less about special effects or fart jokes.*
The Prestige has the great story and it was bolstered by a solid cast. I loved the turn of the movie.

    * Which after reading the rest of this thread leads me to believe either I am a movie snob or you people have the worst taste in movies of any collective group I have ever been associated with. ;D

Oh, and Hard Candy and Death Proof need to be added to my list. Love those films.

  12. "Almost Famous" was my favorite movie this decade, I think.
