I will say my favorite scene of any movie this decade was the match race in Seabiscuit.

Oh, Seabiscuit, forgot about that one.

Loved it. Problem is no one wants to spend 2 hours, 40 minutes on a western. Maybe Avatar because things look pretty, but not this.

I can't believe I forgot Anchorman. It's right there with The Hangover for me.

Agree with a bunch mentioned. Almost Famous would make my list. So would Lost in Translation.

Best movie I saw in the 2000s may be the best movie I have ever seen, though, City of God.

There was a lot to like about the first two-thirds of Seabiscuit. Gary Stevens was terrific as Georgie Woolf.

Top 6 in my subjective world:

    - Kill Bill
    - Sideways
    - Lord of the Rings
    - Casino Royale (when you consider what it took to pull that off, with all the baggage that series had . . . wow)
    - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    - Adaptation

Honorable mention to personal favorites Some Kind of Monster, Revenge of the Sith, X-Men 2, Friday Night Lights. The two comedies that made me laugh the most this decade were Bad Santa and Tropic Thunder.

Speaking of films about 1930s sports legends, I really enjoyed Cinderella Man.

My three favorite parts of Cinderella Man:

    1. During the Corn Griffin fight, when Joe Gould yells out, "Where the hell have you been, Jimmy Braddock?"

    2. When Braddock gets his mouthpiece knocked out of his mouth and is almost finished against Art Lasky, then sees in his mind the scenes where his kids are on the breadline and their bed is empty, then picks up the mouthpiece, puts it in his mouth and smiles, while Lasky has this shocked look on his face.

    3. When Mrs. Braddock walks into the church to pray, and is greeted by the priest, who tells her that everyone in the church is there to pray for Braddock.

Cinderella Man, another good one I forgot about. Good call.
