What's the last movie that made you cry or tear up?

I agree with Dools. I'll watch The Sandlot any time it's on. I saw Field of Dreams, or at least most of it. Never got it. Thought it was trite.

And he ended up a pro wrestler, so what does that tell you?

"One Missed Call" and "Falling Down" usually make me get misty-eyed. "Titanic" does too, just not the same scene that most everyone else finds sad.

Today, May 10, is the feast of the Blessed Damien, one time proctor of the leper colony of Molokai in Hawaii. Still has not been properly canonized despite his above-and-beyond stewardship to a group of lepers in the 1860s. (Eventually succumbed to leprosy, or the much kinder name of "Hansen's Disease.")

There was a movie in the late '90s with a surprisingly good cast (Peter O'Toole, Sam Neill, Kris Kristofferson) that knocked me flat on my ass. The kind of movie you put on at 2 p.m. in the midst of the kaleidoscopic whirl of a hangover -- and you get more than you ever hoped.

You know, sometimes you can seem almost normal. And then you go and say something like that. :)

Find the older I get, the more I'll bawl at anything. Afraid I've been possessed by the ghost of Tammy Faye Bakker.

    Less Than Zero.

Maybe because I have a secret crush on Jami Gertz.

If Field of Dreams had penguins...different story.

Life as a house always gets me.

I get choked up when Rudy's dad looks at the stadium and says his eyes have never seen anything so beautiful. By the time Favreau yells out who's a wild man, I am done.

Because of Uecker's delivery, "The Indians win the pennant" at the end of Major League can get me.

Oh, and Ladder 49. I hate that movie, because I bawled like a 3-year-old during that one. Sat there through the credits, waiting for Joaquin to show up alive.
