While as an 8-year-old in Minnesota I was convinced that Drew Pearson had actually stuck a shiv in Nate Wright's ribs, with age I can concede that, while possibly a penalty, it's not as clearly offensive pass interference as I remembered.

The push-out call on the preceding pass was, however, simply horrific (
    - see the :30 second mark, and also look closely for the security guard who kicks the receiver - just priceless). And the famous NFL Films end-zone shot of the Hail Mary pass shows two absolutely blatant holds by the Dallas offensive line that weren't called.

See, I don't even think they applied the rule correctly, as Brady had already pulled the ball down to the point that it was touching his left hand again by the time the ball got knocked loose. A crock either way, though. As others have mentioned, that same play had happened plenty of times but never been called that way.

If we're including non-calls, the Helmet Catch in Super Bowl XLII was pretty ridiculous. Phenomenal, phenomenal play by Tyree, but the Giants got away with about 10 holding calls while Eli was scrambling around.

Ever wonder what made the Tuck Rule call possible?
The Raiders knew what play was coming.
Eric Allen told this story on one of the ESPN studio shows a year or two later. The play before, Brady was run out of bounds. Allen (then a DB with the Raiders) lingered on the sideline to talk to the ref about something. While there, he overheard Brady and one of the Pats coaches making the play call. He tipped off his teammates, and the rest is history.

Here's the whole story from Allen. It starts around the 2:50 mark:

Not only the refs, but a stuffed-shirt FIBA motherfucker on the sideline determined to fix the game for the USSR.

You're a putz. Every call I make is right (in someone's eyes.)
