Being a .500 team looks like it could be enough for the White Sox to finish ahead of the Yankees at this point. Remember, a lot has gone wrong so far for Chicago, too. Paul Konerko will hit better than this and they get Jim Thome back from the DL soon. Their offense has been awful, but those two will give it a boost.

And the pitching is a hell of a lot better than what New York has, particularly the bullpen. Obviously not at closer, though Jenks is pretty good, but they just run one power arm after another out there in the late innings.

Somebody said the Indians are irrelevant, and I don't buy that either. The Tigers are the best team int he Central, but Cleveland could definitely be in the race for the division and the wild card. The starting pitching is decent enough with that offense behind it. The bullpen could cost them, but right now they look like a better team than the Yankees.

And as for the Twins, yes, Clemens is better than the back of their rotation guys. But the guys you seem to be putting ahead of him for the Yankees all have question marks. I include Wang in that. Let's see him repeat last year, which won't be easy for a guy who gets so few strikeouts.

The Yankees are probably better than the Twins, but I wouldn't say that is a guarantee, either.

Yeah, that's Mike Myers in for the Yankees today.

    In the first inning.

Darrell Rasner got the Jeff Karstens treatment.
Though, maybe you guys saw, did you think the comebacker came that close to hitting him in the groin? Might he have pulled something on his warmup toss, unrelated to being hit?

My Friday fuck you was not because I refute what you claim, it was just a fuck you for ... well ... just because. I had to tell someone other than Derrick Turnbow to fuck off after a 2-8 week.

I'm feeling the urge again ... fuck you old man! :D

I don't know, he immediately grabbed his hand and started shaking it. They said he has a broken finger.

Today's game was indicative of the Yankees season-long struggle.

The Yankees scored seven runs and still lost, as the bullpen combined to allow eight runs. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/gameTrax?gameId=270519121

Tomorrow's starter, Tyler Clippard, will make his MLB debut against a team that averages 5.36 runs per game. Against Boston, the scheduled starters are Mussina, Wang and Matt DeSalvo.

You must be loving life with the Mets. :)

  12. The St. Paul Saints are probably better than the Twins these days.
