OK, OK everyone I'm OK. Just a little out of breath and borderline hyperventilating. Had to go over 100 miles one way to a playoff game today. One word: harrowing.

That's not the half of it. In Bloomington, Ind., I drove headlong into a seat-belt checkpoint! That's right, the Bloomington PD had one of those checkpoints you normally see for drunk drivers, only it was to check to see if you're wearing your seat belt.

Constitutional? Very sketchy. Scary as hell as 5-0 converged on my vehicle with steely determination to see if I was in violation of a victim-less misdemeanor? God yes.

My SJ life flashed before my eyes: from Sauronseye to JDV. A tear briefly formed in my eye because I knew I'd never read Spnited calling BYH a bitter young dickhead ever again. Or read anymore knee-jerk fear-and-loathing hysteria about Boots.

But I survived. It was either the Obi-Wan-like Jedi mind trick I played on the unsuspecting cops or the fact that I actually had my seat belt on. I'm leaning towards the former.

But I'm back now. I'll never leave SJ without informing Webby, all mods on duty, 10 random SJ members, and an extra note in the fallout shelter.
