It's raining here. I mean hard! I mean like DARK GREEN TO ALMOST YELLOW ON THE DOPPLER RADAR hard. Does the SuperDoppler need to go to maroon before anyone wonders where I am? You'd think everyone would know by now that when my rain gage hits .25 inches, I bust into survivalist mode and start eating neighborhood pets unless someone checks in.

Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick. If C. Everett Koop hadn't turned me on to LifeAlert (I wear one too!), who knows what kind of fix I'd be in.

Traffic is indeed harrowing. My heart goes out to you.

But that's a choice you made, BYH. In your devil-may-care, fuck life and its consequences lifestyle, you chose to put your life into jeopardy by picking up your wife. I hate to be a dick that way, but it's true. You made a lifestyle choice to drive. If you had passed on, it would have been tragic, but avoidable.

Think about it, BYH. Today's detour could have been tomorrow's malfunctioning traffic light. Or a school bus dropping off kids. Or, gulp!, trembling in terror as you wait for a freight train to pass. Dude, stop playing Russian roulette with your life!

But me? We're talking RAIN! I cannot control the weather! I cannot control where a raindrop falls. It's Mother Nature sowing liquid terror and reaping moistened chaos. What the hell am I supposed to do about that?

Beyond my soaked concrete steps lies a wet world of dreadful surprises I can't even fathom. Even in my house Mother Nature teases me like the bitch goddess she is, every raindrop on my roof a Telltale Heart-like reminder of the cavalcade of horror on the outside.

Oh no. I just looked at the Doppler again. It's sorta getting yellow! Fuck!
