If he thought the World Series was as described in 1973 when the novel was actually written, Heinlein would be positively gobsmacked by the Super Bowl today.

David Freese. And immediately before that, Neftali Feliz and Nelson Cruz.

Yeah, I was done with Orr after he came out for Trump. It's a shame.

Jordan's HoF speech was the last straw. We all have those days when we want to sell jars of the tears of our enemies to their mothers, but goodness, that was just beyond a typical ethos of authorial vengeance.

Count me among those who were sad about Lance Armstrong as well.

I knew better but that was in the internet link and I just mindlessly copied it. Thanks for the correction.

I've always loved the Lakers, so, only the team's two biggest stars of the past 40 years: Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant.

That was a tough one for the Rangers and Josh Hamilton should have cemented himself as a World Series hero in the 10th inning of Game 6.

It went quickly bad for Hamilton after that, Arte Moreno broke out the 12-pounder, and it's been a disaster for the Haloes ever since. Hasn't been great for Texas either despite a few shiny objects such as Joey "Don't Call Me Chris Davis" Gallo.

EDIT: Just realized I threw a lot of names out there, but Hamilton is the one I intend to name. A complete fall from grace at the end of his stay. No effort on bloop doubles and whiffing on curves out of the strike zone all day long. He got booed but he didn't care because Arte was fixing to pay him.

    Well, Kobe ... obviously.

Magic, in the long march of time ... I don't know. Even before HIV, his career was on the downshift. With Jordan ascendant and the San Antonio dynasty about to take off
