Kiffin has been an entitled prick from the first day he was issued a whistle. People rag on Kiffin because he hasn't won shit to justify his arrogance and hirings.

I don't disagree. While he hasn't done anything to prove he's a good coach, he also hasn't done anything to prove he's a bad one.

He has proved he's an arrogant prick. So have half the coaches in college and the NFL.

Kiffin was a decent OC. He has a great coach in his father, and I'm sure he's learned a few things from him over the years.

I am a Tenn. fan, sort of, and I think he was a prick, but not a bad coach.

If I'm making a list-- MIKE SHULA

The most politically incorrect answer so far. :)

Honestly, much like Kragthorpe, Croom had a lot of mess to deal with from Jackie's departure. He just wasn't the right guy for the job.

Didn't Croom get Ron Zook fired?

Yep. Florida fired him that week, right before the Georgia game.

We'll see if you're saying that when Mike Grant leads them to the 2013 Rose Bowl. Bernie Bierman will finally be able to stop spinning in his grave.

I'm not sure I'd put Groh on the list of bad hires. He had a pretty decent run at the start. The problem was he was kept around 2-4 years too long. It was clear for a while he was killing in-state recruiting and the gap between UVa and Va. Tech was getting bigger, but up until about 2005 he did pretty well.

    Dave Roberts, Baylor
    Kevin Steele, Baylor

A lot of people don't realize Steele was announced as Baylor's head coach about two weeks after Kevin Greene tried to choke him to death on the Carolina bench.

Baylor also chose Roberts over Houston Nutt when Nutt was at Murray State and was the "up and coming" I-AA guy everybody wanted that year.

At the time it looked like Nutt was a shoe-in for the job. Fan base wanted him, he wanted the gig. He fit the Baylor Christian profile. It was a slam dunk.

But he walked into his interview and one of the first questions out of the AD's mouth was "you aren't going to bring a bunch of I-AA assistants with you, are you?"

Nutt bailed, got the Boise State job then was at Arkansas a year later with those same "I-AA assistants".

Baylor is hoping to make its first bowl game in 16 years this season.
