Who will be the coach?

I think a lot of coaches might be interested in "lateral moves" based on the number of bowl bound coaches getting the sack. Spurrier probably doesn't have too much more slack at South Carolina, so why wouldn't you take a new five year deal for more money somewhere else? It's called getting a fresh set of downs.
Don't know about Price going back to WSU, buy maybe they hire one of his kids. They won't get Chris Petersen from Boise or Sarkisian from USC, and there aren't a lot of rising coaches in the West. Chip Kelly of Oregon maybe? John L. Smith would be a good hire.

I'm thinking Arkansas. He's Houston Nutt with a New York Accent.

Spurrier's pretty much a god at SoCar. I think he'd have to have a losing season before they canned him.
At the same time, winning there isn't the easiest thing. There are a lot of openings where competing would be a heck of a lot more feasible.

Yes, i think that's quite possible. As early as tomorrow, perhaps.

I don't think there are too many jobs and not enough candidates to make it likely that Arkansas and GTech are going to get a better coach than the ones they had this year. It's one thing to get rid of your coach, but you better be sure you can get someone who is guaranteed to be better.

I loved in that story on Nutt how the sources said what Nutt w/ say during the presser.
So Nostradamus is now giving scoops to reporters.

After all the nonsense that happened in Arkansas with fans FOIing Nutt's cell phone records and alleging that he had an affair, I'd imagine Arkansas will have a tough time hiring a new coach.
My best guess is that whomever Arkansas hires, he won't be the head coach in five years. And if I was betting, I'd say Venables or Gary Crowton.
One of my old SEC sources tells me that if Nutt leaves, and doesn't coach the bowl game, then McFadden skips the bowl as well. Apparently, McFadden is extremely loyal to Nutt.

I thought Ted Roof was the D-coordinator at Duke before he became the coach. Not that it matters...
