Nutt's working fast. He's reportedly already in Oxford.

He's at my house, playing poker.

(He's happy, we're letting him win.)

He's already texting the local newsbabes.

How bad you think the Confederates are gonna beat the Hogs by next season?

If Nutt can do at Ole Miss what he did at Arkansas, that is a really good hire. Can he contact the kids he got verbals to Arkansas?

If I'm Arkansas, I'm tempted to give Switzer a call. Really tempted. That would be awesome.

Are you kidding? He's 70 and has been out of coaching for 10 years. He'd be a disaster.

Why wouldn't he be able to? Any coach can contact any verbaled kid he wants, right?

Heh. I said without looking at their 2008 schedule that a coach "with any sense" should win seven games.

Looking at the schedule, that sounds about right. They have a home game with South Carolina in Week 6 when they could be 3-2 after losing to Florida. That will be crucial.

As long as he hasn't signed, he's fair game.

Crowton, in my estimation, would at best be a .500 coach there. He wasn't all that hot at LaTech, albeit while taking occasional non-conference beatings against the likes of USC and such.
He wouldn't be a dynamic hire there.
And if McFadden skipped the bowl, to pay homage to Nutt ..
Well, that just ain't gonna happen. No chance.
He owes far more to his teammates.
No skipping of the bowl for McFadden.
Will he have already picked up the Heisman by that time, too?
Have to look to see when the ceremony is.
