I think the shortlist here is going to be Price, Hauck, Smith and Wulff. But the AD there is also known for going off the board and pulling in guys who are on nobody's list.

 

There are reports that Nebraska has had contact with Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe. Talk about a move that would offer a switch in football cultures.

 

I hope Jim Grobe stays in Winstom Salem. It seems to be a perfect match.

 

not to out anyone for a confirmation but the Tupelo Daily Journal's story on Nutt being hired has reportedly crashed the Mississippi paper's server since so many are attempting to look at it.

 

Rumors are flying that the Nebraska coach will be announced to the players at 4 p.m. today. It's complete bullshit, but I think it's funny that news outlets are actually reporting it.

I read the LJS earlier this afternoon that Osborne was going to talk to them about the search, but then the Director of FB operations said it was cancelled. Then was written that Tom would have a new coach by the end of the week, Wednesday at the earliest.

 

I still think he is a longshot just because he has Washington ties and would leave Wazzu for UW if the chance presented itself.

 

He wants out of Missoula pretty bad. Enough that he came close to taking a lateral move to Cal Poly (maybe) a few years back. I'd think going from I-AA to a Pac-10 school, even a bad one, would be more of a leap than should be taken.

 

Looks like the Houston coach is on track to get the Baylor gig.

I think the problem with the Arkansas job is that they are a "tweener" school. Their better than a middle of the road team, but not at an elite level. The fans and boosters see the school as one of the elite teams, but its been a while since they've been a consistant top 10 team. If they were satisfied with 7-5, and 8-4 seasons with a 9-3 or 10-2 record once every 4 or 5 years it wouldn't be a problem.
