Not saying it was OK to lie, but when you have McFadden and Jones in the backfield, what kind of offense would you think Arkansas would run?

The Hogs averaged more than 34 ppg against SEC teams this season, so clearly offense wasn't really the problem.

I would note that Vandy hadn't had as good a three-year run since DiNardo left – yes, just 14 wins (4-5-5) ... but it is Vandy – until this year. There's a situation that uck-diddly-sucks, but he did a decent job there. Pretty decent? Nah, stealing a sixth win along the line would have been "pretty decent."

Eh, I don't know, do you not think a more balanced offensive strategy would have benefited the Razorbacks in the past two years? Like, you know, when Auburn holds you to 7 points and your all time running back is completely stuffed? Or against Tennessee when their coaches basically admitted that they only practiced to stop the run, then they smoked you? Look, I understand most people want to pat the Razorbacks on the head and say "be happy with 8 wins, including 4 rent-a-wins, because you're just little Arkie-saw." That's fine, and Arkansas isn't a top program and will never be up there with Florida, LSU, and Tennessee on a yearly basis. However, if you don't see how a lack of passing game has hurt Arkansas over the past two years, you're crazy. Think about the LSU game last year, when Arkansas was still in title contention...Casey Dick was 3-17 with twenty-one passing yards! Look at the games this year against Auburn and Tennessee where they challenged the Razorbacks to pass...they got completely shut down on offense. Sure, Arkansas has had a decent run over the past two years...but to say it could not have been a LOT better had a passing game been allowed to develop...

The way things are going at Arkansas, the Hogs would be lucky to get Dauber Dybinski to coach them.

Wow, Greg Schiano at Rutgers is going to be pissed that some guy whose name sounds a lot like his is gonna maybe get that job.

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Having suffered through the Jeff Long era at Pitt I can tell you that this clown is as incompetent as they come. How incompetent? By the time Pitt's 2004 coaching search was finished even those who wanted no parts of Dave Wannstedt couldn't wait to get Dave Wannstedt. Harris was forced into the Stanford job and Pitt set out for Wannstedt with no backup plan in place. When they offered Wannstedt the typical measly salary and he walked, the search turned into a who's who of unemployed Pitt alums and current assistant coached. Matt Cavanaugh, Paul Rhoads, they talked to Pelini but he never really got serious consideration. By the time they brought in Sal Sunseri we were all saying, "if they're gonna look at this douchebag they might as well hire Wannstedt," which they ultimately ponied up the cash and did.

This said, there have been rumors that Long wanted to hire Pelini but the chancellor was dead set against it because he wanted Wannstedt, possibly proving that Long went from the Pitt of the Big East to the Pitt of the SEC.

Dammit! All these SEC-Big Ten matchups in bowls and we don't get Arkansas-Michigan.

Guess we'll have to settle for their battle for "Most fucked-up coaching search."

Mike DeBord and Ron English do. The only two coaches to have official interviews.

Saw this in one of the Detroit papers when Carr first stepped down:
Bill Martin does his coaching searches weird, in that, he'll set down and hammer out the contract with each person first. THEN, have an official interview to determine if they get the job or not.

He says that way if they get offered the job, they won't turn it down because of money.
