  4. Steve Fairchild to Colorado State. Not a big surprise since he played and coached there.

Still asking if anyone knows why Michigan uses a hyphen in U-M instead of just UM? I found this on a Web site, but it doesn't give the reason. It makes no sense to me.

The preferred way to refer to the University of Michigan in abbreviated form is U-M, with a hyphen. Please note that when referring in abbreviated form to the University of Michigan–Dearborn, the punctuation mark is an en-dash rather than a hyphen.

  6. At Indiana, UM was Minnesota and U-M was Michigan. I thought it was just a Big Ten thing.

Anyone notice that Larry Fedora now hangs his hat in Hattiesburg?

No Jack Pardee. A bullet dodged.

Sumlin was also thought to be the No. 2 guy at Washington State. I wonder, which job would be considered better nationally? A C-USA job in a major market in a talent-rich spot like Texas or a Pac-10 job in what has to be one of the three toughest BCS markets in which to recruit.

David Cutcliffe seems to be the choice at Duke...

Not really sure what either party is thinking, here..

    Ain't that the truth.
Cutt's gonna be challenged to win there, if he goes.
His record as a hed-C allows him to be considered for numerous jobs, but Duke's not a place I'd think he could win.
