Who will be the coach?

Actually it was 45-26 and a pretty exciting game, for the most part. It featured back-to-back kick returns for touchdown. There was nearly a third consecutive kick return for touchdown, but LSU's Eddie Kennison got tripped up at midfield.

As I recall, there was a ton of scoring early in the game, like 28 points in the first few minutes, then it fizzled fast.

Paul Johnson really, really wanted the Ole Miss job last time around. Don't think he ever got serious consideration, though. He wants to prove that his offense will work in the big time. And by big time, I mean SEC, not necessarily Ole Miss.

I think you're right. He had records of 5-11 and 4-12 his first two years out of his first retirement. People were talking about him not being able to relate to today's players and having the game pass him by. Then he goes 13-3 and wins the Super Bowl and it shuts everybody up.

For every narrow-minded journalist who starts up with the annual "bad bowl game" chant, there are thousands of fans who are happy to be in the postseason and hopeful to improve their lot next season.
Those same writers run over to cover the games, eat the pressbox food and snap up the goodie bags handed out by organizers.
Every game can't be for the national title, or even a BCS bowl.
While you are welcome to your opinion, John, it's not neccesarily the status quo mindset.
If Bama happens to go to the Liberty or wherever, accept it and let the teams at least enjoy being in the postseason. With one win more, Kentucky or some other team might make a bowl that's "just higher" than that.
For what it's worth, Shreveport's got a lot of positive qualities and it beats the hell out of sitting on your ass at home wondering what might have been.
Damn so much of the media crapola which is offered up for public consumption.

After Duke fires Ted Roof (or he "resigns"), it will go after Paul Johnson again. I doubt it will get him this time, either.

It sounds like Sherman will head to College Station.

Are they going to call him "General Sherman" on campus?

This move seems odd. I think they could have done a lot better.

Despite being an assistant there, I would like to know what Bill Byrne's rationale was in getting him.

    Chandler and Ted...

    They gone!!!

Maybe it's time for me to get out of sports journalism and become a college ball coach. There are enough openings.
