Yeah I think Stoops may be trying to say all the right things out of respect for Weis because Weis is still technically the coach. Even though we all know he's going to be canned soon, he's still technically the coach and that may be why Stoops is treading lightly about what he says in regards to his interest in the job. Who knows.

One reason why ND probably better plan on writing Weis a check for every single red cent remaining on all his contracts (coaching, endorsements, shoe contract, etc etc ad nauseam) is that if they don't, he will sue, creating a clusterfuck situation any potential successor will probably not want to dive into, which will drag out the hiring process and probably leave ND holding the bag.

ND needs to get Chuckles to go away like instantly. To do that he'll want money.

As a Wisconsin fan, I am hoping that ND hires Bret Bielema.

More gutless behavior from Weis. No surprise there.

Reminds me of the end of Paul Hackett's run as Pitt football coach in the early '90s. Everybody knew he was gone. He certainly knew it, though he made a show of being pissed the day they fired him. Yet he showed for the post-game presser after his final game and answered every question. He stayed through the one-on-ones and even a few minutes after, when all that was left was the guys from the college paper.

In other words, he may have been a lousy head coach, but Hackett could have taught Weis a lesson or two in class and accountability.

Paul Hackett had one of the greatest offensive minds in football. His play calling ability was 2nd to none.

When the breakroom fridge has been emptied of all its contents, then you know Charlie is really gone.

The next time anyone hears anything from Charlie Weis, it will be the day he's introduced as an offensive coordinator back in the NFL, where he insisted last week, he is liked more than he is in college.
