Who Will be the Next Coach at Notre Dame

A Big East with Notre Dame TV deal with NBC would give the network a few more games where they have the rights to broadcast Notre Dame and the Irish on the road, something they don't have now unless ND plays a bullshit "home game" elsewhere like the Alamodome.

No, financially they don't need to be in a conference as long as the NCAA continues to let them do what they want. From a football standpoint, it makes more sense and will make them more competitive in recruiting players in all aspects of the game.

Why Notre Dame should have most favored nation status as far as being in the BCS is a puzzlement. It should have to fight with Boises and Mountain West teams of the world. Mystique shouldn't friggin' cut it anymore.

I'm a Notre Dame fan, but more importantly, I'm a fan of college football and to say the NCAA doesn't need to make significant changes to the Division I-A organization, including the provisions the BCS has made for Notre Dame and no other independent, is wrong.

Yes, they should continue to take advantage of all the advantages the NCAA and BCS gives them as long as they're permitted. But should they, or any other Big 6 conference school, be allowed what they have just based on what they've done in the past? Absolutely not.

  5. How in any way, shape or form does the NCAA have anything to do with Notre Dame being an independent?

If Notre Dame joined the Big East, the Irish path to the BCS would be easier, much easier, than it is now. And the years they don't make it they'd still get a piece of it.

What are the odds UC grants him release to transfer to Notre Dame?

    Not worth it.

They have a good deal now.

And they want to be able to play Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, USC, etc.

They also want to be able to schedule additional home games when they schedule a series with other teams.

They have no natural rivalry or history with most of the teams in the Big East and it's not a football conference.

Then why are they 0-2 vs. the Big East this year compared to 2-1 vs. the Fat 10?

I look forward to the intro presser when Kelly is asked about his own college football experience.

I had 11:04 in the pool for when Boom would say that. Did I win?

Do you really think this will become an issue? Has he ever been asked about it before?

He'll say, "Unlike the previous coach, I have some."
