Second episode did a nice job of slowing things down and building story arcs.

The Yahoo.com reviewer agrees with the consensus here that the first episode moved much too quickly, though allowed for the fact that everyone knew the aliens would be baddies, so why wait? They expressed the hope, which I share, that more of the backstory will be fleshed out in future episodes.

Right, I don't understand why everybody is so pissed that they're revealed to be bad. Wasn't that a basic assumption going in? I had never heard of this before a few weeks ago and I knew that.

It wouldn't be a very interesting show if after the visitors arrived that everyone went on to live in perfect harmony.

I'm really liking this show so far. Plenty of twists. The one with the V doctor shocked the heck out of me. They are doing a nice job of creating tension.

And Kara from Smallville in her bra and panties wasn't a bad moment, either. :)

Yeah, I like that it's going at a pretty fast pace. Also liked that the hot Smallville girl is Anna's daughter.

I'm wondering if she is the biological daughter, though. It seems like Anna's control over the V's, or at least some of them, is something like a drug-induced hive. I'm just extrapolating a bit, but the V society seems fairly different from the original.

I thought the first 30 minutes crawled. Yawn. I almost turned it off (thank god, I didn't. I almost saw Vandervoorties). The last half hour was better, but the writing is terrible and the acting's not much better.

I don’t think the guy had no prior suspicions. He was calling the black guy on the phone repeatedly and the guy argued that it was “all in his past.” This would imply that they had been fighting the aliens for quite some time and had only taken a break over the past few years.

You also have the fact that the black guy is an alien. So he would certainly know that they are lizard-people.

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to.

hondo, I think he meant that there was no build-up on the show to them being reptilian, not that the guy at the meeting had nothing to base his claims on. Also, at the time of the meeting, he didn't know that Ryan (Chestnut's character) was a V.

Not trying to upset anyone, but I call butter face.

    EDIT: Now makes sense.

    I call quote function fail.

A buddy of mine who watches both Smallville and V said that something is a bit off about her face, but he can't figure out what. Then again, given the number of ridiculously-hot women they have had on Smallville over the years, she may have suffered by comparison.

That said, she is still very nicely put together.
