If only Paterno had shown this type of concern for Sandusky's victims.

I've seen Shotty defend some of the other unpopular figures on this site before, it's an admirable quality.

I wish ( could have played some of my past posts as well as that.

Since this Sunday is Christmas, I strongly doubt a new Sports Reporters will be on. Easy out for them, eh?

Not getting the 'cool kids' references at all. I see a bunch of adults trying to have a serious discussion, interrupted by one chronic goofball.

    1. You post ignorant garbage you get called on it.
    2. Doesnt matter whether Conlin in a national treasure or a tired hack, he's accused of fingering little girls.
    3. Something about a circus bear on a bike, can't remember the actual routine but maybe someone can help with that.

    Happy to help.

    24) You spend more time backpedaling than a Russian circus bear on a unicycle.

Exactly. Thank you. Leave it to the Russians, they know how to handle these things.

And I fully understand that's what you see. Although I don't know if I can easily deal with us not seeing things identically. 8)

Think the first time I ever read Conlin was when he was the NL columnist for The Sporting News (back when it was readable). Seems like about half of every column was about the Philies. Yeah, it was the Schmidt-Rose era, but come on! (no double entendre intended).

And Double J's right ... I'll buy the noob a beer, too.

Can we agree to #2? The rest is superfluous.

21, #2 is the only thing we can't agree on, because I do not think you saw where that was coming from.

Believe me, I know Conlin's writing notoriety has nothing to do with this issue. But that's what Wm Penn made a point of, that Drip was silly to suggest that the man's writing carried considerable weight (there I go again) in that era.

That's the only reason it was addressed.

No mixed emotions at all. A bit surprising that this connection might be made, after what I said.
