I wish Mark Mangino had a connection -- any connection -- to Alabama these days.

Just curious, would the Tide look at someone like TCU's Gary Patterson? I've always liked him as a coach, and I would think he would continue to do nothing but win should he ever leave for a BCS program. But that's just me.

That actually makes more sense than anything else I've read on the coaching search recently...

Tom Coughlin and Jim Mora Jr. will be available in a few weeks...

    Here's something interesting.
On this thread Hondo generalized and called everyone in the state of Alabama a douchebag.
    That makes Hondo a hyprocrite.
On another thread about Monica Lewkinsy someone took a shot at hime and he gets his feelings hurt, pretty much saying it's OK for him to stereotype and generalize with universal applications, but when it's turned against him suddenly says it's not OK.
    Hypocrite.
    Absolute hypocrite.

I really have no idea why they don't go get a proven WINNER (read: not a proven D-I coach) who will start rebuilding that program. Don't get me wrong ... I'm not complaining about their struggles. But why they don't go get a proven winner from a lower level is beyond me. There are some really good coaches out there who aren't I-A retreads.

That's douchebag hypocrite to you, pal...

And to answer your question Hammerpants, it's because they're bamma and bamma does what bamma wants because bamma has a sense of entitlement because bamma is the best program in the nation, but going to through a rough patch right now... (would someone please try to tell morons, miners and truckers of Bama Nation that Bear's dead, his era isn't coming back and they haven't mattered since Jay Bleepin Barker was quarterback for cripes sake....)
