Maybe Rush would threaten to return to the HS ranks if the coach didn't send his kid to Bama... Most coordinators don't recruit off campus anyway, so it's not like he'd be calling on them all the time. He's probably going to UAB anyway, and he'll recruit well (for them) there.

 

There is a man available right now who would succeed on the D-I level, if hired by a school to do so.
Like most coaches, he does best with good players.
He'd get good ones if he were hired at Alabama.
He won a D-II title at Delta State. He was on Jackie Sherrill's staff at MSU when the ship sank there in 2003.
He was coaching O-line then. State could have hired him and had as much success as Croom has enjoyed, but likely even more.
(And I stand behind Croom, BTW)
This man, though, is named Steve Campbell.
Why do we have to go out get "name" people, when too often, there are good choices who are not as well known.
Alabama should hire Steve Campbell, currently coaching JUCO ball.
Campbell is a proven winner. He'd win big at Alabama.

 

One of the Bama message board lunatics who track planes posters claims Mal Moore is en route to Fayetteville to meet with Nutt.

 

Then he'll return to Tuscaloosa to meet with more nuts. :

Because Mal-feasance said he needs a proven head coach.... He is proving to be the bestthing to happen to Auburn

And Dog's right. Maybe Saban isn't so bad after all -- as long as he can rid the university (Re: the athletic dept and boosters/admin) of the Bear Bryant deadwood (including his son)...


And not only can I not believe they'd hire Houston "I was lucky to have a job this tiume last year" Nutt, but the way the SEC tries to raids coaches from other SEC schools just floors me..

but why?
