Are pro-gay marriage, pro-choice abortion, and pro-immigration stances not related to morals?

This is the NewsCorp agenda in virtually everything, not just politics.

Virtually every arm of their media empire is devoted to appealing to idiots. From the fucking jumping robot on NFL games to piss-paper paranoid journalism, dumbass movies and a thousand imbecilic cartoons clogging up the TV airwaves, everything is pitched to the idiots. Tits and ass and mouth-breathing paranoia.

Not in the sense where they are telling people what to do with their private lives.

Want to marry someone of the same gender as long as you are an adult? Democrats (in general) say go ahead, it doesn't affect me.

Pregnant and want to have an abortion? Democrats (in general) say go ahead, while it's not the greatest choice in the world, who are we to tell you what to do with your life?

Republicans, on the other hand, love talking about freedom when it comes to making money, but also love to restrict freedoms when it comes to making personal choices on who to marry, whether to carry a fetus to term, or, whether to use birth control or not, or until very recently in some states (I'm looking at you, Texas), who two consenting adults could have sex with regardless of gender.

Wait. Let me get this straight. We kill the Politcs board for too much name-calling, hatred, bickering and people acting like babies, and Moddy decides to see if a thread with a link on politics that calls politicians "dolts" "dim-witted" and basically stupid can last and be the example for future political threads?
    Nice.
Nicer....it's lasted 7 pages so far.
Okay, I had to get away from the Mike Sherman crap for a while, and needed to type about something else. Okay, carry on.

And if you're going to represent a party that claims to be intellectually superior (remember the start of this thread) then your candidate shouldn't claim there are 57 states and be a complete bumbling idiot when his teleprompter malfunctions.

But it was OK when Bush was verbally tripping all over himself?

This. It has been firmly established that the USSR was already bankrupt and collapsing at the time Reagan took office. And they mostly did it to themselves--to the extent we do deserve credit, it was a cumulative 40 plus year effort by seven different presidential administrations, Reagan just happened to be the guy fortunate to take office right as that house of cards finally started crumbling down. Wasting insane billions on a ridiculous pipe dream like Star Wars wasn't some brilliant ploy that brought down an empire, it was just a colossal waste.

But, unfortunately, nobody can end the "Reagan Won the Cold War" myth now. It has become holy writ in the conservative bible--the facts and actual history be damned.

    "TelePrompter?" Still?

I continue to misunderestimate the party of the big tent.
