Cultural diversity aside, I don't think I can convince my mother that tortilla chips are made without flour.

A tamtam, slappy, is a cracker, but they come in flavors and make the whole ordeal a little more tolerable. Like an onion bagel versus, say, a cardboard box.

And apparently, this is a very big story. From the NYTimes:

    http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/27/its-hide-the-matzo-for-real-where-are-the-tam-tams/

“What we did was put a brand-new oven in our Newark facility,” said David Rossi, a spokesman for Manischewitz, the maker of the cracker. “Much higher speeds, all computer-controlled, a state-of-the-art baking line. That was something we were hoping to have up and running well prior to the Passover baking season. Due to some engineering delays, we missed the window.”

MISSED THE WINDOW!?! This is all you do, all year!! Schmucks!

It just proves once again, Jews were put on this earth to suffer.

I really thought the grocery guy was lying to me. The poor man was literally pinned against the gefilte fish shelf, surrounded by crazed Jews seeking Tam Tams. 'THEY NO MAKE! NO MAKE! SEE SIGN!!" And there's huge sign explaining the complete meltdown at Manischewitz.

What am I going to do with all this fucking chopped liver.

The no TamTam thing is bs. We got some other kind of cracker, but I suspect it will suck.

    Also, no margarine.

    WHAT NEXT?? FROGS? BOILS??

A shortage of special kosher-for-Passover margarine is causing dismay in Jewish households across the nation as family cooks discover they can't make many of their traditional Passover meals without it.

Particularly irksome is the absence of kosher-for-Passover stick margarine, an essential ingredient in baking for the weeklong holiday starting at sundown Saturday.

"Margarine-gate, that's what we're calling it," says Rabbi Moshe Elefant, chief operating officer of the kosher division of the Orthodox Union, the leading kosher certification agency. Rabbi Elefant's phone has been ringing practically nonstop as Jews in and around Manhattan, where his organization is based, attempt to hunt down the precious commodity.

LinZee only eats plain noodles and HoHo's.

I'm going to dump the chopped liver in a big bowl and give Lou a spoon.

    No seder reports yet?
First night hosted for the first time and everything went smoothly.
Second night drove two hours to a vegetarian seder at a rabbi's house where there were 18 people and the seder was a blast.
