Why the KC Star shines

Unless I overlooked something when scanning APSE awards history, The Star has only won one Top 10 in investigative, and that was the aforementioned series on J.R. Giddens last year.

Regarding their Big 12 series ... it didn't blow me away, but I didn't think it was bad either. Obviously some stories were better than others. But all around I thought it was a solid effort.

 

It's easy to diss a paper ... just not that particular columnist!

 

Maybe that new stud will deign to actually interview his subject.

Yeah, it would be great if we discussed other sports sections. You would think the Kansas City Star is the only one around from the way some posters around here are firmly suctioned to its ass cheeks.

The paper gets more free publicity every week than any other at this site. There ought to be an ad banner at the top.

By all means, we need to do whatever we can to make Jason Whitlock richer.
