Red Barons actually are the Yanks' AAA team now. Phils' team is going into Allentown in 2008.

I know Lisa and she's pretty young. Is the T-L looking for another 20-something, or a veteran for this position?

A few clarifications on some of the posts here: First, the guy who took over the TL, Rich Connor, was its editor and publisher 20 years ago, and later was the publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Rich is no angel, but he has lots of editorial experience and knows the area (even if he once had a reputation for favoring a certain prep school's teams). Second, the opening shots of "The Office" are Scranton (and I grew up 2 blocks from the tower shown in the opening shot), and this paper is in Wilkes-Barre. If you're not from that area, that won't mean much, but once you get there, you'll find out it means a lot. There's still a big rivalry between the two cities, counties and lifestyles in general. The baseball stadium is in Moosic, on the edge of Scranton's city limits, and they came pretty close to removing Wilkes-Barre's name from it when they renamed the team the Yankees. A lot of people think the out-of-town management group will eventually take over ownership and move the team. I've heard Staten Island as a possibility (just a rumor). Two of the three D-III colleges are in Wilkes-Barre, the other is in Scranton. You probably wouldn't cover the Yankees if you take this job (except for sidebars, perhaps) because a lifer with close ties to the new boss covers them now. If you know the TL, you know who I mean.

    Kellar?

I knew Connor was the publisher previously, but I didn't know he also was the editor then. Thought most of his experience was on the business side. I stand corrected.

Where had he been? Will the bars or another business realm reap benefits from his return?
