Actually that joke is quoted, but it also delivered a quote of this "joke", and I have to wonder whether there is any truth to Chappelle going backstage to get some payback.

"Chappelle then joked to Foxx, “I’ve been doing this for 35 years. I just stomped a n— backstage. I’ve always wanted to do that.”

If I'm any public performer, I order my security people, if somebody leaps on stage/on the field/ court, etc etc., to see to it they leave not only on a stretcher, but hooked up to life support. And if you see any weapon, a knife or gun (or combination thereof), put their lights out.

 

I'm about there too.

 

Ask John Lennon, Rebecca Schaeffer and Monica Seles about being accosted by fans.

 

Guys like that ruin it for everyone else who want to carry a concealed switchblade into a public venue.
