Same as everything else. Humans are capable of caring about more than one thing at a time.

Let’s hope that Chris Rock doesn’t channel his backstory like Juwan and Will otherwise, Will gonna get shot. And while we wont approve, we understand that retaliation is part of the culture. And if you don’t believe that you haven’t paid attention to Chicago, St Louis, Baltimore, Philly, …over the past 6 years of shootings and murders in the black community.

If this hadn't happened, can you imagine the uproar over Costner's opening. He said when he was 7, he went to his first adult film. What he meant was a film for adults -- "How The West Was Won" -- not an adult film like "Debbie Does Dallas."

Honestly, in the era we live in where people get on a stage, politically, and spew whatever they want, I’m cool with what happened.

It might make someone pause for a moment before vomiting garbage.

I seriously doubt I’ll give it much thought after today.

I honestly don't think either need the attention dollars.

Both are pretty huge name-above-the-title stars. Both seem review-proof at this point in their careers.

    But you never know.

Twitter is a weird deal. No doubt everyone who wants to blast their message about their personal cause X, Y or Z will try to link it to The Slap and include the hashtags.

    See? Just like Trump.
See? Hollywood Left? This is what we'll be left with when they take our guns!
See? Toxic Masculinity. Rock, Smith - you pick. Both?
    See? Cancel Culture.
The point is to make yourself part of the story.

Personally - what would have been terrific would have been if it was Jada who walked up on stage, slapped Rock, threw a glass of wine in his face or whatever.

People will take a break from calamity for a day and pore over this little Hollywood microaggression.

They'll all be back to war and insurrection and gas prices and global plague tomorrow.

“We ask some people in Missouri diners why Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock is bad for Joe Biden.”
