Federer is starting to roll now and if Rafa's knee is bad, there's only one obvious ending... No. 7 for Roger

Roddick continues to watch the window close. Hard to believe that his career will have just one major title. This is probably the only era in tennis where he could have been that unlucky.

Unlucky or just not good enough? He just never seemed to have a champion's mentality to me.

I've watched Andy Roddick in his postgame pressers for years, and he's such a dick. Why doesn't anyone give him the same shit Tiger gets when he's grumpy and short with reporters afer a loss? Is it because nobody really cares about tennis?

Because Andy Roddick is not anywhere close to the biggest star in his game let alone possibly the best ever.

More unlucky, you look at the guys who won two or more majors in the 80s and 90s and he was just as good as quite a few of them. He's just not good enough to beat the current two champions, he and the rest of the ATP.

Too bad Roddick did not discover his new game until it was too late, stronger backhand, more all around game, less reliance on serve and forehand. Then again, he's been a dick so who cares?

What does this have to do with what I asked? And Andy Roddick, while not even close to being the top player in the world, he is ranked in the top 5 and all American hopes hinge on his shoulders. Still, that doesn't stop him from being a pompous asshole in all of his press conferences - win or lose.

Andy is quite often a bit of a dick, and I was rooting against him today, but in all fairness some of the questions he got today weren't all that good.

    Q. So tomorrow when you wake up, you think you're going to be pissed off, disappointed?

ANDY RODDICK: I'm going to be thrilled. I mean, c'mon.

Connors, Borg, McEnroe, Lendl et al would have eaten him alive.
He has talent, but he's soft. He does not have the heart of a champion.

Well I wasn't thinking about those guys...more like the Stefan Edbergs of the world that won six majors. Roddick would have pulled two during that time, especially once the late-80s hit and the guys you mentioned were old or retired.

Not so sure about that noles. I just don't think Roddick ever had the heart for it. He always found ways to lose...except for last year's Wimbledon final.
