Since our last wine discussion, I have discovered yet another remarkeably inexpensive and surprisingly tasty pinot grigio (yes, I am partial to white wine) from Francis Ford Coppola.

Francis Coppola Blanco Pinot Grigio...$8 at Total Wines... amazingly good fore the price.
There is also a Sofia line.. mostly reds, I think, and my sister the red wine drinker in the family tells me the Sofia Merlot (same price at Total Wines) is also quite good.

As I've said before, I also find the Yellow Tail Austrailians -- not only the whites but the Shiraz as well as Merlot and some blends --very good for a very reasonable price.. not more than $10

Yes, I was about to say ... if you don't know anything about wine, the Yellowtail line is a good place to start.

Truthfully, if there is a Total Wines in your area, you have to go there... lots of variety, usually helpful and reliable staff, price ranges for every budget.

Spnited's wine cellar spans many epochs.

And ours has an imported beer row where you can make your own six-pack of any six bottles you want from virtually anywhere.

I don't know. Hell it was like a year and a half ago I did it. But I know I got them from six different countries...it was my own little beer-tasting voyage.

I am a BIG fan of the Coppola wines. I prefer white, too, spnited. We had a Coppola with Thanksgiving dinner and it was fantastic.

White zinfandels and Rieslings are reliable at a reasonable price. Most any other kind is too bitter or too heavy for me.

Stopped at Total Wines on the way to my cousin's a week before XMas...saw the Coppola Pinot, remembered my sister and ex-GF had had a Coppola red at dinner in NYC one night so I decided to try it. Loved it.
The following week, was going to my other sister's house for XMas. She e-mailed mid-week wondering if I might be bringing a few bottles of "that very good Coppola" with me on XMas day.
Needless to say, we went through 3 bottles of Pinot on Xmas.

Wow, ex....that would explain the major slamming of pinot. I myself went for the rum and Diet Coke tonight.

Not slamming any Pinot tonight, dools.

As for the white zinfandels, my 86-year-old mother loves the stuff. Nuff said about dooley's taste in wine.
