Fishburne kinda works as Doc; he's thickened up considerably since his playing days. Hes not as heavy as Fishburne, but he is stocky.

They studiously shot around "Magic" when he appeared in the storyline: silhouettes, back shots, etc etc, similar to how Jordan was handled on "Air."

It would have been fun if the "Winning Time" series had extended into the Kobe-Shaq era and into the 2010s, to parallel the Clippers series.

The Clips series has very few basketball scenes -- although now that I think about it, neither did "Winning Time."

I looked forward to Winning Time and watched each episode as soon as it dropped. I totally forgot about Clipped. It dawned on me this morning that I didn’t watch last week’s episode.
    It doesn’t suck, just meh.

Pearlman just posted a residual check for something like 83 cents.

Finale dropped today. Maybe I’ll watch tonight depending on how late the Dodgers game goes.

One issue I’ve had was the casting. On Winning time, the actors resembled the player they were portraying. There was no doubt who was in each scene. In Clipped, other than Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, I don’t know who the players are.

I love the Pearlman TikToks. Maybe part of it is relating as a former sportswriter, although never close to his level, but he tells a good little story of a time indefinitely relate to!

What happened to Clipped? I think I watched 4, then couldn't find it again. Has it finally resumed??

Don't think it ever went anywhere. Episode #4 (which was about the flashbacks with Doc and Stiviano, and that weird fetish/swingers party) came out two weeks ago, and #5 (the Barbara Walters interview) was last week.

    It’s like the Lakers-Clippers relationship.
For those of us over 45, we knew the characters of the Showtime Lakers. That’s what made WT so addicting. We knew Magic, Kareem, Riley but it was also the other characters (Nixon, McKinney, West as GM, Westhead) that made it really sing.

We really don’t know that much of the characters of the Sterling Clippers.

Winning Time was also much more irreverent (breaking the fourth wall, the factoids they weaved in) and I loved the little details they had with the period uniforms and advertising. They also had the distinct edge over Clipped with casting (and probably budget considering who led the WT cast).

And we cared about the Lakers because they won something; the Clippers have still never really won anything.

Watched the finale of Clipped. Zzzzzzzz

The novelty of the concept wore out quickly and it didn’t show anything we didn’t already know. It would have been better with fewer, tighter episodes.

I still can't see the value in making Clipped, and I was a (partial) season ticket holder at one time. Terrible franchise with an old racist owner, and a weirdo looking girlfriend.
